Objectives

Regional Government Forum is a recurring conference organised in Szczecin since 2004. Every year our guests include representatives of the Government of the Republic of Poland, European Parliament, regional governments and the most important Polish academic centres as well as, since two years ago representatives of European Union member states from the Baltic Sea basin and Easter Europe representatives.

The aim of the conference is the exchange of valuable experiences and opinions amongst representatives of government administration, regional governments, as well as the scientific and business communities on the subject of the effectiveness of regional government structures, development opportunities and the strengthening of international regional government cooperation.

The subject matter taken up encompasses in particular issues concerned with the financing of territorial regional government units, the role of regional governments in stimulating innovation and the creation of economic cooperation planes, the areas and directions of cooperation between the science community and regional governments as well as the Eastern Partnership and other EU support programmes.

The annual meetings constitute an excellent opportunity to establish fruitful contact and enter into mutual local, regional and European initiatives.
