They were successful.
The beginning of the activity of
Garo AB in Sweden dates back to 1940. Till the beginning of the eighties the company operated only in the Swedish market. The eighties brought a dynamic development of the company in Scandinavia (a branch in Norway was founded) and outside Scandinavia (also a branch in Ireland was opened). Subsequent years were a period of development of a client network in other European countries (among others in Germany, Holland, Spain, Portugal, France). Today Garo AB is a leader in the Scandinavian market of electrical installation accessories and the number of innovative products implemented and improvement of the production processes enable for gradual gaining of new markets.
The representatives of the Polish delegation had an opportunity to visit an imposing production plant and research & development center in Gnosjo. The company board invited representatives of the association of employers from the Jönköping Region to a meeting. This institution, together with the SEB bank, often supports Swedish entrepreneurs in choosing potential locations outside the territory of Sweden.
After the visit, Stefan Jonsson – the Managing Director of the Garo Group officially announced the decision about the localization of the group’s new production plant in the Westpomeranian Region. The company whose Polish affiliate employs at present 33 people in Tanowo located near Szczecin, will invest over PLN 8 million and will employ 120 people in the new factory.
The Westpomeranian IAC had serviced the investment project since Summer 2011 - from the day when Adam Szymborski, the Company President of Garo Polska Sp. z o. o., met with the Marshal Olgierd Geblewicz. At present, work on preparing appropriate investment area is being carried out. The details concerning the final localization within the limits of the Westpomeranian Region will be revealed in the second quarter of this year.
