„The tremendous potential that is available in terms of specialists and the proximity to logistics hubs, such as major seaports, are two key location factors that speak in favour of Stargard as the new location.”

Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency

„Westpomeranian Region is appreciated by investors for a number of significant reasons. Foremost due to direct sea access and well developed port facilities. This presents a significant advantage for investors planning to expand into the Scandinavian market. (…) The advantages of the region include proximity to the western market, which is certainly appreciated and not only by foreign investors. (…) Specific to the region are good wind conditions for wind farms. We have been observing the development of this industry in Pomerania for a number of years and the creation of wind farms draws other sector specific investments. Currently, more and more producers are considering constructing production plants in the Westpomeranian Region to fulfil the requirements of existing wind farms. (…) The Investors’ Assistance Center pays a lot of attention to post-investment support, other words services rendered on behalf and for the benefit of companies which previously invested in the region.”

Gdańsk Institute for Market Economics

“The situation throughout the year have considerably improved in the Westpomeranian Region, where regional government was enormously trying to create good climate for investments. Therefore, West Pomerania promoted two positions in the rating and is ranked at sixth position."

Bohdan Wyżnikiewicz, Vice President of the Gdańsk Institute for Market Economics (December 2009)

Cargotec

"When the decision about looking for location for our new investment was made we analysed dozens of solutions. We landed at a hundred or so of airports and it became obvious that Stargard Szczeciński would suit us best. It offers everything we need to run our business: the proximity to our European clients, the port, the motorway, adequate logistics solutions and road investment plans. Moreover, I am also impressed by the academic centres of West Pomerania. I am looking forward to cooperating with them. (...) First, excellent cooperation with local government. Second, the possibility of buying a 41 hectare plot of land. Third, the logistics links and proximity to our client base."

Harri Ojala, Vice President of Cargotec Corporation (announcing their investment decision on 29 April 2009)

LM Glasfiber

"It is not a coincidence that we are placing our first Polish factory here in Goleniów. It is the result of very thorough research and analysis, where all our findings at the end pointed to this region. First of all this site is ideally located to competitively serve some of the areas that today is seeing and is expected to see the highest demand for wind power development: Germany, the entire Eastern Europe and Offshore. And it has excellent logistical options for our inbound and outbound logistics needs whether by road or marine allowing us to effectively serve our customers in the growing offshore and onshore markets in Europe. Secondly, the authorities have been both agile and accommodating in responding to our business development needs. As a third factor, this site provides an excellent platform for future expansions and we have every confidence, that we can realize our future expansion plans here in Goleniów. Last but not least a very decisive factor: here in Goleniów we have found the quality people that are an absolute precondition for success. Bottom line: Goleníów was a natural choice for us, and I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all authorities that have been involved in the project.”

Roland Sunden, President of LM Glasfiber (speech at the official opening of the production plant in Goleniów Industrial Park on 3 March 2009)

Bridgestone

"Finding a suitable site and making an agreement with all the parties is never an easy process. I would like to thank all the Polish Authorities, in the city, the region and at National Government who worked so hard to bring this Agreement to a final conclusion. It is only with such good support in the host country that we can bring a long term investment like this one. I look forward to receiving the continued support from all the parties, and together we will make Bridgestone Stargard a great success."

Takashi Urano, President of Bridgestone Europe NV/S (speech at the official signing of the Investment Agreement on 31 July 2006)

Faymonville

“The choice of Poland as the country in which to set up our new facility was based among other things on the quality of the staff we can hire there. (…) This country is full of excellent welders. In addition, since we no longer have to worry about clearing customs now that Poland is a Member State of the European Union, having a production unit in Poland is not an issue. All the more since our new plant is only 850 km away."

Royal Danish Embassy

"Excellent cooperation with the authorities of the Region, access to well-educated human resources and expanding infrastructure are the arguments which have convinced us that Westpomeranian Region is the most appropriate place for foreign investors. This opinion is based on the experience shared by at least eight Danish investors. We would like to emphasise how important it was to meet the Marshal in person and cooperate with the Investors' Assistance Center  in the process of attracting the investment. In our contacts with the Marshal and the personnel of the Center we have always appreciated their professionalism and assistance in solving frequent problems encountered by the investors in implementation of their projects. As a public body, the Marshal's Office is always open to cooperation and provision of assistance to investors. On the basis of my six-year-long experience in running investment projects in Poland I can say for sure that West Pomerania is an exceptionally attractive place for Scandinavian investors. Thanks to professionalism of the Investors' Assistance Center other investors will locate their investment projects in and around Szczecin more and more frequently."
